Blounts Bay Vicinity
The Camp Boddie Platform, site donated by the Boy Scouts of America, East Carolina Council, is in Beaufort County on the South side of the river. Situated on Blounts Bay, this platform provides a wonderful getaway with magnificent views. You can put in at Cotton Patch Landing on Blounts Creek, McCotter's Marine on Broad Creek, or Dinah's Landing on Goose Creek State Park and have a nice paddle and stop for lunch. Through paddlers can enjoy the beautiful view of Blounts Bay and the Pamlico River. This is one of the few places in Eastern North Carolina to see wild moutain Laurel on the 40 ft bluff this platform resides on. For day or overnight paddlers, the closest put-in is Dinah's Landing on Goose Creek, but requires you to paddle across the open waters of the Pamlico. The closest protected put-in is on Blounts Creek at either the WRC boatramp or Cotton Patch Landing. The platform is 16' by 32' and half of it is enclosed with a roof and screened-in area for those buggy or rainy nights. All sites are only accessible by water.
The Camp Boddie Platform is undergoing repairs and is not currently available for reservations. Thank you for your understanding.
